First Impressions & Fit
The GT-2000 13 made a great first impression. They feel very cushioned, especially through the heel, and my usual UK 9 fit perfectly. The gusseted tongue adds to the comfort and really helps create a secure, locked-in feel.
I did notice a bit of baggy mesh, though this is something I often experience as I don’t have particularly wide feet. The deep heel cup is excellent — it provides a really secure wrap around the back of the foot.
Cushioning & Ride Feel
The moment you step into the GT-2000 13, you can feel the softness of the FF BLAST+ midsole, and the PureGEL in the heel adds a noticeably plush, cushioned landing.
ASICS’ 3D Guidance System works well. I don’t usually go for support shoes, but I could feel the shoe guiding my foot into a more neutral position, particularly due to my own pronation. It’s subtle but effective.
Performance & Grip
I walk 1 km to and from work each day and run home at lunch, so my work shoes get more than just in-store testing — they get mini daily runs. Over these short distances, the GT-2000 13 feels great:
- Cushioned and stable on descents
- Good energy return on the uphill stretches
- Confident and reliable even in soaking wet conditions
Grip has been solid overall. The only noticeable wear is on the toe area of the outsole, but I often squat on my toes when helping customers, so this happens with all my work shoes. Indoors, even on wet surfaces, I’ve had zero issues with traction.
Pros
- PureGEL + FF BLAST+ combo feels fantastic underfoot.
- Gusseted tongue provides an excellent locked-down fit.
- Lean-back heel design reduces pressure on the Achilles.
- Deep, secure heel cup.
Cons
- Laces come undone more easily than I’d like.
- Mesh could be slightly thinner.
- Toe box may feel narrow for runners with wider feet.
Value for Money
At £140 (and now cheaper with the GT-2000 14 released), the GT-2000 13 sits right at the standard price point for a support shoe of this category. For the comfort, durability, and guidance they offer, I think they’ve been excellent value.
They’re also consistently popular with customers in the shop, and many podiatrists recommend them alongside the Brooks Adrenaline GTS for structured support. Based on comfort, stability, and lifespan, I’d highly recommend the GT-2000 13.
Final Thoughts
Among support shoes on the market, the GT-2000 13 holds its own against brands like Brooks and Hoka. They’ve worn in very well, the PureGEL and FF BLAST+ foam do a great job absorbing impact (and even make long periods of standing more comfortable), and the 3D Guidance System offers reliable pronation control without feeling intrusive. Overall, a strong, dependable, and comfortable daily support shoe.
