About me

I work in a specialist running retail store in the heart of the South Downs National Park, where I spend my days helping runners of all levels find the perfect fit in brands like Hoka, Brooks, ON, ASICS, and Salomon.

I’ve raced everything from park runs to 75K ultras, and in 2026, I shall be taking on my first 100KM race along the Serpent Trail with a long-term goal of running UTMB Snowdonia 50K (2027).

I also lived in Banff, Alberta in Canada for 10 years where I got to enjoy the great outdoors of the Rocky Mountains. Hiking up some of the tallest local mountains in the area and doing many day hikes to some spectacular lakes and viewpoints. During my time out there, I also had a complete ACL rupture which required surgery as well as a long road to recovery. I also ran the Banff Marathon taking on the Half Marathon distance set in the heart of the Rocky Mountains which, during training and race day meant carrying bear spray was a necessity for those just in case moments.

My aim here is simple — to give runners real insight into the shoes and gear we actually use on the road and trails, not just what looks good in marketing photos. Every review is based on genuine experience, honest testing, and a love for the sport.

I also work closely with brand reps, testing new models and learning directly from the people who design and develop the products. This gives me a unique mix of first-hand retail knowledge and athlete perspective, which I bring into every review.

When I’m not on the trails or in the shop, you’ll likely find me watching The Arsenal or heading out for a pub meal with my fiancé because even though I love to run, I also love a Guinness.

Thanks for visiting — I hope this space helps you choose your next pair with confidence and get more joy from every run.

Run Far. Run True. Run Babbit Run.
